96th Avenue Sanitary Lift Station Upgrade

This upgrade project comprised both mechanical and electrical work

Aging of the facility’s components along with continuous usage and availability of new technology resulted in the need to upgrade the station.

The station discharges through a 450mm diameter forcemain into a manhole approximately 1600m west of the station.

The mechanical upgrade consisted of the supply and installation of an electromagnetic flowmeter in the existing forcemain, including isolating valve, piping, precast manhole and a drainage pipe.

The electrical upgrades included the supply and installation of a new motor control centre (MCC), plus a new PLC control panel. The project included new pump cables and level monitor junction boxes, plus the recabling and resealing of existing submersible sewage pumps.
