Water system upgrade and electrical power and control systems

To meet the set requirements we coordinated with the local health authority in the selection of the water treatment process.

Potable water is supplied from a 16.7m deep groundwater well. The water is pumped to a control/ disinfection building. The water is filtered through 50 micron and 5 micron cartridge filters.

The water is disinfected using a Sterilight UV system and chlorinated using a calcium hypochlorite system. It is then pumped to a 19,000 L reservoir below ground. A flow meter measures the volume of water produced.

Power supply to the site is provided by a standby power generator. The generator will run automatically when required if:

  • The reservoir calls for water
  • The building is too cold
  • The genset battery is nearly in low condition
