New pump station for District of Squamish
The district decided to build a new station instead of retrofitting the existing one, eliminating the risk of water supply interruption during construction.
The existing station’s pipes, electrical system and instrumentation were in poor condition and required replacement. Construction of a new facility also eliminated the risk of any interruption of water supply to the Thunderbird Zone 240 during construction.
We conducted a hydraulic analysis of the distribution system to verify the design flows and pumping requirements.
The station incorporates two 100 HP vertical turbine pumps (for Thunderbird pressure zone), three 40 HP multi-stage pumps (for Perth pressure zone) together with a 250 kW generator.
