Design-build contract provides well for city of Prince George
Monitoring wells monitor drawdown and confirm water quality in the aquifer for this project for the City of Prince George, enabling health authorities to track potential contaminants.
The bottom 5 metre depth of the well was filled with concrete poured under water. After the concrete had cured, the caisson was pumped out, and 10 horizontal well screens were drilled out radially a distance of 48 metres from the well caisson. The well screens can be individually isolated from the surface.
Monitoring wells were located outside the main caisson to monitor drawdown and confirm water quality in the aquifer from time to time. This important feature enables the health authorities to track potential contaminants from surface spills.
This design-build project was carried out by Collector Wells International Inc from Ohio.
