Opus recently acquired North Vancouver based engineering consultancy Dayton & Knight Ltd. Opus DaytonKnight are known for their specialist water and wastewater design capability, control and instrumentation expertise, and electrical design capability.

Our services in Water and Environmental market includes SCADA, Solid Waste Management, Stormwater Management, Trenchless Technologies, Wastewater Collection, Treatment and Reuse and Water Supply and Treatment. 

The Opus local office model of delivering great services locally with back-up provided by our centres of expertise provides the Opus water sector with one of its strategic strengths.

Brightwater Outfall

The Brightwater Outfall is part of a CA $1.7 billion wastewater treatment system.  The design-build project was awarded to Dayton & Knight Ltd (now Opus DaytonKnight) as the principal design consultant.  The Brightwater Outfall is unique for being the largest size of high-density polyethylene pressure pipe in North America and the deepest municipal outfall.

Saanich Peninsula Wastewater Treatment Plant

Opus DaytonKnight in partnership with DEC Design designed and are currently implementing the thermal energy from an effluent system at the Saanich Peninsula Wastewater Treatment Plant. The project consists of a low temperature district energy sharing system that recovers heat from the wastewater treatment plant and circulates the heat through a two pipe closed loop system to the surrounding facilities.
